Stage 1: Consultation (1–2 days)
Our design consultants discuss your space, existing furniture, lifestyle, and aesthetic preferences. We recommend this consultation happen in your home — proportions and lighting conditions are impossible to assess accurately from photographs.
Stage 2: Specification and Quotation (3–5 days)
Based on the consultation, we produce a detailed specification: dimensions, materials, fabric options, hardware, and finish. The quotation is transparent — materials and manufacturing costs are presented separately from our design and installation fee.
Stage 3: Manufacturing (3–8 weeks)
Timeline depends on the product category. Custom sofas: 4–6 weeks. Custom bedroom suites: 5–8 weeks. Custom dining tables: 3–4 weeks.
Stage 4: Delivery and Installation (1 day)
Our team delivers, assembles, and installs. We remove all packaging materials. A final inspection is conducted with the client before our team leaves.
Questions to Ask Any Custom Furniture Maker
Before placing a custom order anywhere in Cairo, ask these questions:
- What wood species is used for the frame, and what is the moisture content? (Answer should be hardwood, kiln-dried to 8–10%)
- Can I see examples of your previous work in person? (References should be verifiable)
- What is included in the warranty, and what is excluded? (Frame warranty of at least 2 years is standard in the premium market)
- What deposit is required, and what are the payment milestones? (50% at order, 50% at delivery is reasonable; requests for 100% upfront are a risk signal)
- Who manufactures the pieces — your own workshop or a subcontractor? (Brand responsibility differs significantly)
Red Flags to Watch For
Too-short lead times: A sofa genuinely made from solid wood with quality foam cushioning takes a minimum of 3–4 weeks. A 2-week turnaround almost certainly involves pre-made components.
Inability to explain materials: If a salesperson cannot specifically name the wood species, foam density, or fabric composition, the likelihood is that lower-quality materials are being used.
Pressure to decide immediately: Quality furniture purchases should not involve sales pressure. A reputable manufacturer has a backlog and will hold your specification without requiring an immediate commitment.
